Washington Agriculture Facts
The University of Washington and Washington State University: How Do They Compare?
I’m not so concerned with facts I can find on Wikipedia. Rather, I’m interested in intangible differences: what their cities are like, which schools are nationally renown (Agriculture, Business, Computer Science, etc.), which university is most prestigious in the eyes of Washingtonians (Is that right?), and any other relevant information.

My guess is that University of Washington is more prestigious, as it is one of the schools written up in the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2006 edition… and Washington State University is not.
U of W is given 4 1/2 stars (out of 5) for academics in this extremely helpful Guide, and 3 stars for both social and quality of life. It’s got a “BEST BUY” stamp. They seem to like the campus a lot. It says U of W’s strongest programs are Businesss, English, Psychology, Drama, Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture and Nursing. About 71% of applicants are accepted, so it isn’t an exclusive school. The Guide says schools with which U of W “overlaps” include: Washington State, Western Washington, UC-Berkeley, U of Oregon, Puget Sound.
